Amber Inclusion/ Bee

Bees belong to the insect superfamiy Apoidea. They are flying insects whose close relatives include ants and wasps. There are about 20,000 documented bee species around the world. All continents except Antarctica have bees living in it.

Bees feed on nectar and pollen. Nectar is used as their primary energy source. Bees derive protein and other nutrients from pollen which is also used to feed their brood.

Considered to be a major pollinator in ecosystems containing flowering plants, bees gather nectars and pollens. They help in the gathering and collection of seeds and pollens of different plants. Depending on their need, a bee can either collect pollen or nectar. Pollen-gathering bees are much efficient pollinators compared to nectar-gathering bees. Humans should be grateful for bees because their pollination contributes to one-third of the human food supply that is dependent on insects.

It was discovered that bees possess five eyes. They reside on empty cells and are so busy they do not sleep. Eggs ranging from 1,000 to 3,000 can be laid by the queen bee in a day.
